Not stuck. Not lost. Not exactly.

It’s more like being someplace where the landmarks don’t read the way they used to. You long for the sense of belonging somewhere, and can’t find it. You reach for something without knowing quite what you’re reaching for.

More than that: you don’t feel at home in your life anymore.

You’ve tried the morning routines, the popular productivity systems, the newest tools, the tiny habits. Nothing fits. You’re getting answers to questions you aren’t even asking.

There’s a word for where you are: liminal. It’s less a crisis, and more like standing in a doorway where the old maps don’t match the territory.

This space holds a question, but not the kind the routines and systems are built to answer.

The plans and tools and systems that no longer work aren’t failures. But they are clues.

When we feel some ongoing sense of dissatisfaction, confusion, or frustration in our life that we can’t name, that’s where wayfinding begins.

We often experience these feelings during times of transition, rapid or unexpected change, or even a recognition that the structures of our days no longer fit so well.

Beneath that, there’s a pressure: to keep it together, to not fail, to maintain the same familiar identity. When we feel that pressure, it’s hard to listen to what’s happening, to be curious before being scared, to receive rather than control.

What’s missing isn’t more discipline or a better technique. It’s a different posture entirely.

What This Is

The Wayfinding Session is a single formation session for someone who senses a disconnect between the life they’re living and the one they’re traveling toward, and can’t yet name what’s in the way.

Before discerning where to go, I help you discern where you are, and what being in that place asks of you. In a formation session, we focus less on fixing what's wrong and more on recognizing who you're becoming.

When we meet, we’ll begin exploring with a Meaning Map and a conversation about where you are, not where you should be. From there, we’ll name what you’re actually experiencing: moving from symptom language toward something more precise.

Before we finish, we’ll identify a minimum viable experiment: one small, feasible action targeted at what’s actually in the way, that doesn’t require you to become a different person first.

Within a week, you’ll receive a personal letter: what we found, what it means, what to listen for. Plus two weeks of email support to recalibrate as you move forward.

Wayfinding is about recovering your ability to read your own life. The session doesn’t deliver you to a destination. It’s a waypoint: it locates you on the path and equips you for what comes next.

What it isn’t: a productivity audit, a pre-made framework, a session that skips to prescription.


What Becomes Possible

Hope is not a plan. But it’s how the plan begins.

Our time together isn’t about gaining certainty or building a perfect system. It’s about restoring self-trust: the recognition that you can meet unfamiliar territory with curiosity, and the hope that you can participate in your own life again.

Small actions, consistently taken, restore self-trust. You won’t leave with all the answers, but you’ll leave knowing what you’re actually dealing with, and with something feasible to do about it. The next question gets better, not just louder.

Some Questions People Bring

I’ve tried everything already. How is this different? Most approaches offer answers before they’ve asked the right question. This one starts with where you actually are, not where a framework assumes you should be. If something you’re already using is working, we build from that.

Is this productivity coaching? Productivity does show up, but as a means, not the goal. Our work closes with a practical experiment, which draws from what productivity thinking does well: action, feedback, reflection. The Wayfinding Session starts upstream, with a prior question: where are you, and what’s actually in the way? The practical work follows from that, not the other way around.

I’m not sure what kind of help I need. That’s common, and it’s exactly what the Curiosity Call is for. Fifteen minutes to think out loud before deciding anything. If this isn’t the right fit, I’ll tell you.

How do I know this will work for me? I won’t pretend to know your situation before we’ve talked. What tends to make the difference is a willingness to sit with what you find, and to stay curious about it. The two weeks of email support means we can re-orient if something doesn’t fit.

Why I Do This

At some point I stopped researching and planning, and started actually doing the things I’d wanted to work on for years. That shift didn’t come from finding a better framework. It came from finally locating where I actually was, and learning to listen to what that place was asking of me.

I know what it’s like to be extremely capable and still feel like you can’t move toward the life you long for. I also know, from illness, loss, and the harder seasons of life, that there’s almost always a way to keep doing what matters, even when the obvious path is gone. I built this because I needed it. And because there were some days when I would have loved to have a guide helping me find my way.

Wayfinding begins with discerning what’s happening within our life. What discernment requires, before anything else, is not better thinking or doing. It’s deeper listening. Attending. Noticing.

Noticing requires a name, because to name something is to enter into relationship with it. Naming, like noticing, is not a one-time act but a sustained one, a repeated return, because to use a name requires memory, connection, attention over time. We find it hard to love what we cannot name. And what we do not love, we will not tend.

Wayfinding reorients us to our lives — inviting us to notice and name who we’ve become in the journey, and what’s still inviting us forward. Not a single moment, but an ongoing practice.
