Greetings, friends!
For the long-time reader/subscriber, this may be the second or third "rebrand" you've seen? Thanks for sticking around while I figure it out. 👋
Here's what hasn't changed: my commitment to helping Christians who feel worn out by life's big questions invest in becoming who they're designed to be. What has changed is my clarity about how we do this work together.
The central question of my life has been this: "How do we become who we're designed to be as people of faith in a world that treats humans like problems to solve?" Throughout my experiences as an artist, person of faith, and leader, I've learned that most of us want to answer that question too.
But it's an easy question to forget when you're exhausted by systems that assume you're a machine, overwhelmed by endless advice that doesn't work, and experiencing research fatigue from trying to figure everything out yourself. If you're tired of everything and need something different, you've found your people.
Fair warning: this isn't just information consumption. This is formation work—the kind of deep, slow practice that helps you integrate your past story, present choices, and future vision into purpose-focused living. We're figuring out our answers one step at a time, together.
You may notice a few changes, so let me show you around the house.1
The ⭐︎ Start Here ⭐︎ page goes into more detail about the whys, hows, and what-fors of R21.5 x MjR, specifically the three lenses that we'll be using to explore our big question: Human Be(com)ing, Sustainable Systems, and People Watching.2 Make sure to click over there for more info.
Also People Watching now expands on the concept of role models by exploring what we can learn from historical, fictional, and contemporary folks who shed light on what it looks like to live a purpose-focused life in any age (or story).
Logistically, the TL;DR: every month, you'll get four issues that explore a central idea or topic through these three lenses; that's the main newsletter. You'll also find The Monthly Muster, a once-monthly digest with all the links, synthesis of our learning, plus some special thoughts you won't find elsewhere.
You can get all five emails, or just one: you decide. You can manage your subscription settings on your account page by turning on/off any sections you aren't interested in.
The new “season” starts this Friday, September 26 in your inbox.
This newsletter runs on six-week sprints: four weeks of original content, one week of integration and review, and one week for all of us to rest and take a breather. (Because sustainable rhythms matter, and I'm not interested in modeling the burnout culture we're trying to escape.)
You'll also see a landing page for Systems Therapy—my work with high-performing women who want to create sustainable processes, tools, and practices that honor how they're actually designed, not how machines work.
This isn't about "productivity hacks" or "optimizing your life." It's about building systems that support your humanity rather than demanding you become a robot with consistent energy and output. If you're tired of research fatigue and ready for pre-tested solutions that work for complex lives, we should talk.
I've also updated my bio on the About page, and you can find out what the logo means...you know you're curious about it.
As of right now, I have no plans to turn this into a paid newsletter, so you won't get any requests to upgrade your subscription. (And if I ever do change my mind, I'll make sure to have a DTR with you first.)
But here's how you can support my work:
Share R21.5 x MjR with your friends, family, coworkers, random strangers! (Just kidding.) Click the share button wherever it shows up, or share your favorite post(s) on your socials. It helps this newsletter grow, and y'know...makes you the absolute best.
Check out Systems Therapy, and if it sounds like something you (and your besties) would be interested in, schedule a free 30-minute Curiosity Call! You can tell me what's bugging the ever-lovin' stuffin' out of ya, and I can tell you how we might build something better together.
If you're a Christian who feels worn out by life's big questions, tired of systems that treat you like a machine, and ready for something deeper than surface-level advice—welcome home.
So, expect to see more about what it means to be human in the twenty-first century, sustainable systems that honor how you actually live, and conversations about becoming who we're designed to be through the wisdom of the Christian tradition.
And tacos. We'll "taco" 'bout tacos. 🌮
Shalom,
This is just so I can appear very, very intentional about presenting my very, very multi-passionate interests.
